Upcoming Changes To My Private Practice (Effective 1/23/23)

I’ve made changes over the years to my practice and sent the updates to my clients and email list, but never in a blog post like this before.

But uh, maybe I should since I get about 500+ views on my blog every time I post a new blog and that’s a lot of attention to get compared to my email list, social media, and the likes.

The short of it is: I’m making some changes to my private practice cuddle sessions in the coming new year to better support you!

For incalls (in my cuddle room in Woburn.):

First and probably the most exciting news: sessions in my cuddle room in Woburn and the packages associated with them will be seeing no pricing changes whatsoever this new year!

That’s right, absolutely no cost changes for sessions coming to my cuddle room whatsoever.

In fact, an even better update: Starting 1/23, I'll be opening up same-day bookings for sessions online for incall sessions! This hasn't been available as a standing option since pre-pandemic!

But unlike 2019, the timeframe is even shorter: you'll be able to book me as soon as 3 hours in advance. This will be available to everyone that has completed a pre-session call.

Two things to note on this front:

  1. You’ll still be required to pay in advance or have a card on file. For my clients that prefer to pay in cash, you’ll either need to visit my office at least the day before our session to prepay in cash or save a credit card on file for my cancellation policy (which as a reminder, is 12 hours advance notice or full payment is expected— the only exception is if you’re sick and you reschedule due to the illness within 3 weeks)

  2. Due to this extended and more on-demand availability, my hours will be changing. I’ll be experimenting with this and this will likely change at two or three points throughout the year to adapt to my and clients’ needs, but as of 1/23 until the foreseeable future my default hours will be:

    Sundays 11am-5pm

    Tuesdays and Thursdays 1pm-9pm

    Fridays 11am-5pm

After 1/23, anyone that wants to request to see me on a Monday, Wednesday, or Saturday that I haven’t specified I plan to work with clients will pay double my rate to do so.

For my clients that want to come to me but have a difficult time getting to my office (no car, live in the city, can’t drive due to medical condition, etc.):

WE NOW HAVE AN UBER PROGRAM SET UP!

For the first two rides to and from my office (4 rides total), you can get $10 off your Uber ride. Request the voucher when scheduling your session and I’ll send you the link for you to add it to your account. When you put the address as your starting or ending location, you’ll get $10 off your ride.

For those less technologically inclined, I’m in talks with Uber now to get the service set up so I can order the Ubers for you to and from my office at cost. More info on this front TBD!

For outcalls (to your home, hotel, etc.):

*note that if you have a disability and are not able to access my office due to it not being accommodating to your disability, I will honor my Woburn cuddle room full rate for clients that live within an hour driving radius of my Woburn office. I have limited availability to accommodate this, but if you think you’re eligible please sign up for your pre-session call and specify this in the form.

I am raising my pricing for outcalls significantly to support being in my cuddle room more reliably for clients. As of 1/23, I will require a minimum of 3 hour sessions in order to do an outcall within a hour driving radius of my Woburn office.

Before 1/23, you can stock up on my old package pricing. You can buy max 36 hours worth of cuddle sessions and you'll have up to September 1st to use those hours.

Note that my outcall pricing does include the time to drive to and from you and tolls, but it does not include any parking fees associated with getting to your session.

Services I'm discontinuing:

All day sessions for purchase will be discontinued on 1/23. This was a service I offered for one flat rate where you could book me to start cuddling with you as early as noon until we both decided to stop cuddling that day (pretty much anytime before midnight). Due to the varying long lengths the session would be, I did require we share a meal together (cuddling does get you hungry!), and I would not book any other sessions that day to accommodate. This was essentially reserving the entire day for me to simply be your cuddle buddy.

If you do buy these before 1/23, you'll be able to book them for use until 2/3. After that, I'll convert what you've paid for a day session into credit towards another package purchase as you would like. Please reach out to me if you want to book me for an extended all day session before purchasing.

Overnight sessions will be discontinued for purchase on 1/23. This was a service I reserved with clients I’ve seen before. Essentially, it was a slumber party where we cuddled together.

If you do buy these before 1/23, you'll be able to book them for use until 2/3. After that, I'll convert what you've paid for an outcall into credit towards another package purchase as you would like. Please reach out to me if you want to book me for an overnight session before purchasing.

These were offerings I had that were especially attractive for people further away from my office or that just wanted to have more time with me. While I loved offering them and having such long sessions where I got to go deep with a client, it no longer makes sense for me to offer them given the direction I’m going in my practice.

Travelers that want me to come to you, note that I am in the process of fleshing out options that would make sense for us to meet!

Which brings us to another exciting thing: additions that I’m working on!

Services that are still being fleshed out (and will likely be moreso in this upcoming year):

Group Cuddle Events! People have been asking me about this for years, and I'm finally registered for Cuddle Sanctuary's Event Leader training coming up! I'll have a better idea how these will look after I finish training in April, but I'm very excited to take this training and find out what I can bring to group settings. Note that this is different from Cuddle Party, which is a specific trademarked way of doing group cuddle events.

More info TBD, but I will very likely be offering group cuddle events once a quarter once I get the hang of it!

Half hour in person assessments. I'm noticing I'm attracting a different type of client than I had when I first started in this work, and we end up needing a bit more time to figure out how exactly we would best work together before we have our cuddle sessions. Historically I've done these as part of the pre-session calls and for the first session, but I'm considering offering an option for new client that want to just see me sooner first. These will be a cost effective way for people that are on the fence about trying out professional cuddling to decide if I’m the right person and if they’re going to get much out of the experience.

That said, these assessments generally wouldn't involve cuddling or extensive touching, but it would give me an idea of how I can best support you in real time. I can only discover so much over the phone, after all. I’ll still need your contact information ahead of time so this will not be a replacement for offering your real name, email, phone number, and the likes.

Traveling sessions. Because I’m retiring my day rate sessions and my overnight sessions, I’ll have to decide how I want to handle sessions for when a client wants me to travel to them for a session. I’m open to doing it, but it needs to be financially worthwhile for me to do it. With me retiring my flat rate day sessions, this means the only other offering I have as an option is for you to pay my travel costs (plane, hotel, Lyfts and Ubers) and then my hourly rate from when I leave my house in Boston to when we finish our session.

Example: Maybe a client wants me out in DC. I find a flight for 10am direct to IAD. I book it and find a hotel that will let me check in near my client’s workplace around noon. So I leave house at 8am to get to airport so I make my flight on time, fly the hour and 15 minutes it takes to get to IAD, and then take an Uber about a half hour away. Once I check in, I make sure I’m clean enough for a session (another half hour) and then my client arrives for a four hour session at 3pm.

So this comes out to: (flight)+(hotel)+(Uber)+(8am-7pm= 11 hours of cuddling cost)

While it feels reasonable to me, it’s very expensive and variably difficult to predict how much it’ll cost depending on small tweaks in schedule (what if client got out sooner and could see me at 2? What if they decided they wanted a two hour cuddle session instead? What if they can pick me up from the airport? etc.). I’ll be looking into an easier way to do this, which may include: coming up with a flat rate for cuddle sessions up to a certain length of time depending on where I’m traveling to (example: NYC might be cost of travel + 4 hour minimum cost at my full rate for an outcall cuddle session), just pricing it up with each person that’s interested in this, etc. I’m open to talking about this with interested parties.

Companion and self-care coaching. This one I’ve thought about offering for a few years now. See, I know a thing or two about what it’s like to be a hermit with poor social skills that wants to do social things but doesn’t want to do them alone. I also know what it’s like to be a workaholic that’s on the verge of burning out. I wrote about both of those things in my book.

Being a good companion with decent social skills and good self-care takes a lot of practice, and it can be overwhelming to do on your own. Doing things with someone fun— like going to the movies, traveling, trying out a new restaurant in town, going to a comedy event, etc.— isn’t an experience everyone has had. As a compasionate ex engineer that has helped many of my friends gain better social skills and whom has organized several parties of my own with varying (mostly high) success, I want to be a person that you can experience things in real time and retrain this muscle.

In addition, performance in a workplace is heavily dependent on your ability to recharge. If you’re constantly on and regular cuddle sessions are your only source of reprieve these days, you might still be burning the candle at both ends. We might want to talk about other things we can do together to integrate into your self-care. The coaching would come into play where I would come to your home or office and help you create the space physically and mentally for you long term while also providing you with cuddles as needed in these sessions.

These two will likely be my largest offerings as far as price point, but mostly because it will require a time commitment for you to see results.

If we haven’t spoken and any of these sound interesting to you and you want to see if seeing me makes sense for you, the next step is to do a 20-minute pre-session call.
